1. Be as Busy as a Bee!

A famous saying goes like: An empty mind is a devil’s workshop. In fact, the more you are free, the more your mind wanders. And the science says that negative incidents have a deeper impact on our minds than positive ones.

So, if your mind is free to overthink, it will probably move towards the negative memories from the past. The best solution is to keep yourself busy doing things that you like. Apart from your job, you can pursue hobbies like painting, bee-keeping ( you understood, right?).

2. Little Things Matter

When was the last time you played outside on a rainy day? Or taken 8 hours of sleep without caring about the world? Wanted to read a book that people think isn’t much intellectual? Yup, do what you feel like. Everyday, do at least one thing that you want. That could be small to the world, but not you.

3. Activate Positivity Triggers

Triggers could the smell of freshly cooked potatoes, your mom’s baked chocolate chip cookies, etc. You can make them again and regenerate those same childhood feelings.

4. Celebrate Small Successes

Whether you went for a walk today or read newspaper, celebrate the achievement! You got up early? It is a big deal! Got appreciation for your dress? Be happy for yourself, had the courage to stand up for yourself from a bully? Give yourself a pat on the back!

Let your life be a series of small and big achievements. Let’s put some limelight on our good deeds and feel happy.

5. Watch or Read Positive videos/books

Some people like reading, others prefer visual stories. What I want to say is, just any positive self-help book, feel-good fictional story or watch a movie like Pursuit of Happiness.

Whatever activates feel-good hormones in your body. It could be the best way to hit high dopamine levels in your body.

6. Create Visual Positivity Board

Draw positive images like a family portrait, a lively park, a home by the riverside. Make drawings, paintings, printout positive quotes and post them on this board. Read a nice news article or a magazine story? Cut that out and put it on the positivity board.

Make this board an inspiring source for you and your mind. Place this board at a place where your eyes frequently look at whenever you pass from there.

7. Listen To Your Favorite Music

I sometimes hear funky songs with high beats and joyful lyrics. Instantly my sleepy body gets activated to kick start the day’s chores. Music plays a pivotal role in our lives. It has the capacity to heal a person in coma!

For instance, right now I have put a calming music with natural scenes on my TV and doing my work. This music is helping me calm my nerves, increases concentration, and keeps me happy.

8. Gratitude Never Goes Out of Fashion!

You can practice gratitude in many ways. I started by writing three good things that happened to me everyday. This way, I also keep a log of all good memories of my life. I can look back and get nostalgic about my lucky life whenever I feel like!

The other easiest way is to smile and say ‘Thank you’ to all those who have done something for you. There are many more ways, but let’s start with the tiniest ones!

9. Extend Your Positive Thoughts To Those Around You

You feel positive? Very well, now you can increase that many times just by making others around you happy and positive as well.

Play with a child, help a stranger on the street, make people laugh- do anything that could make other people’s day. People who have a jolly vibe, are the favorite among everyone.

10. Just Enjoy Life

Positivity is a habit just like waking up and brushing your teeth. Do not turn it into a chore. Enjoy all phases of life. Soon enough, you will see positivity coming naturally to you.
